Genomic Resources


Genome assemblies:
As of July 2020, genome assemblies for eleven species of Peromyscus mice have been generated by the community. While most of these assemblies are short-read based, one assembly is based on long reads resulting in a much-increased contiguity (contig N50 size). Moreover, two assemblies have been scaffolded to chromosome level using mate pair reads and genetic maps.

RNA-Seq
As of July 2020, more than 500 RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) Peromyscus mice tissue samples have been made publicly available on NCBI/SRA by the community. These samples include a variety of tissues (e.g. including liver, kidney, blood, heart, skin, brown adipose tissue, reproductive tissue, and several brain regions), both sexes, and different experimental or natural conditions (e.g. parasite/pathogen infection, high/low altitude environment).
